5 Inspiring Journal Prompts for the New Year

The New Year brings new beginnings; it brings a feeling of freshness, renewal, almost like a clean slate. The New Year is also a time of reflection. It is a marking point; a chance to look back on the past year.

Part of my New Year ritual includes reflecting on where I’ve been the past year. I reflect on the challenges I’ve over come; on the positive changes pushing me further into alignment.

I want to share with you some journal prompts that I am currently reflecting on. A piece of advice, when you journal you do not need to answer all these questions in one sitting. Sometimes I will leave a prompt and come back at a later date. Also, if these are not finished before the New Year, know that is okay and perfect. You can take as much time as you need to reflect on these questions.

1. What were your 3 biggest lessons from the past year? Write down in detail. What did you learn? What will you do differently?

2. In what ways have you changed in the past year? In what ways are you the same?

3. What is your vision for the upcoming year? Write it down in detail. What are you doing? How does it make you feel? (These are your “goals”).

4. Who do you need to be to make this vision a reality? How are you going to show up differently?

5. How will your lessons from this past year help you achieve your vision?

I hope these prompts help you reflect on the past year and look forward to the upcoming year!

Wishing you many blessings this new year and always!
